Why Port Macquarie Basketball

PMBA has a rich history in the Hastings region dating back to 1965. We currently have over 1900 members including players, coaches and volunteers ranging in age from 3 to 83. 

Basketball is one of Australia's fastest growing sports, with 1 million players. Our region is growing quickly, and PMBA is ready to support our current members and welcome new residents to the PMBA family.

In 2023 we have introduced exciting new initiatives including a return to the Spalding Waratah NSW Senior League with two US players joining the Dolphins team, and installation of Glory League a player video engagement system. Building our basketball community and creating connections across the Assocation, these initiatives will also help add value to our sponsors.

How we use sponsorship funds

Your support will help offset court hire, equipment and travel costs so basketball is more accessible to all. 

• We're looking for sponsors to support our youth development, programs to keep girls active in sport and inclusive activities like walking basketball.
• Our representative teams and particularly our Senior Men, incur the most costs due to court hire fees, and extensive travel making it harder for regional athletes to reach state-level recognition. Cost is a barrier for some players.
• In 2023 many of our development and coaching programs are being run by our two American player / coach imports. These athletes deliver a style of basketball and engagement that attracts attention, inspires local atheltes and increases particiaption. The costs of this import program are extensive and your sponsrship will make this sustainable.
